Guide for Authors

The JAMB welcomes for publication full-length research articles, reviews, and short communications in all fields of science. The submission should be written in English. Submissions should be performed using the online system. The manuscript must be submitted by the corresponding/principal author or one of the co-authors (if any).
Manuscript Submission
The author(s) must confirm, in the cover letter, that their submitted manuscript (or any part of it) is not currently under consideration for publication or has not been published previously elsewhere in English or any other language by our journal or any other local or international journals. Moreover, any Figure, illustration, scheme, structure, or table that has been previously published by any journal must be indicated, and copyright permission for reproduction must be obtained from the relevant published.
During submission, please provide a softcopy of the manuscript (MS Word (all versions) for the text and tables, illustrations/figures/schemes in TIFF, JPEG or PDF, and the chemical structures using ISIS Draw or ChemDraw (CDX). Moreover, a PDF file of the whole submitted article (including tables, figures, etc.) must be provided.
Manuscript Preparation
Text Organization
For manuscript preparation, the following points should be taken in consideration:
Use the MS Word DOC for preparing your article. Paper size is A4 and margins are normal (2.54 cm at the top, bottom and both left and right sides). The article starts with a title page, which is followed by abstract, keywords, main text, acknowledgements (if any), and references. Tables and figures are included at the end of the article. In case of research article, the main text comprises, in separate sections, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion,
conclusion, and list of abbreviation (if any). In review article, starts with a general background of its subject considering the relevant other recent reviews in the field.
Article title should be written using font 14 using Times New Roman style and making the first letter capital. The various sections of the manuscript style must be written in double space with Times New Roman style and fonts of 12 pt. The section titles should be made bold using the same style for the main text. Full term of an abbreviated item should be given during its first appearance in the text unless if it stands for standard and well-known item. Binomial names of organisms or some biological resources must be italicized.
Cover Letter
In the submitted article, please include a cover letter that contains complete contact information for the corresponding author (mail and e-mail addresses and telephone and fax numbers). This letter must include a prime novelty of the presented article too. Moreover, the authors are asked to recommend three potential reviewers (reviewers have no conflicting of interests) in that letter.
Article Structure
Title page: containing a precise and brief title of the article, author's name, corresponding author(s) names, affiliations, and email address. Non-standard abbreviations should be avoided in the title.
Abstract: It should be clear and concise, which highlights the novel aspects and draws attention to the general features of the presented research. The size of the abstract should not exceed 250-300 words. Avoid using abbreviations and references in the abstract section.
Keywords: Up to 6 keywords must be provided. The topic of importance in the presented research is indicated by these keywords.
Section headings: The headings of the various sections must be numbered sequentially. These start with introduction with left alignment and capitalizing the first letter. The sub-section headings must be in in lower-case and numbered as 1.1, 1.2, etc.
Introduction: This section must include the background and objectives of the presented research in a comprehensive way. Please avoid unnecessary literature survey and cite the required key publications in a proper manner.
Materials and Methods: The authors should provide sufficient information of the methodology applied to allow the reproducibility of their experiments. Previous protocols employed in the authors’ research should be mentioned, with corresponding references, must be indicated. Details of materials supplier(s) and used equipment (manufacture, model, and country of origin) should me mentioned too. Each prepared material must be characterized properly. In case of new organic molecules, full analysis must be provided (elemental analysis, full C and HNMR data, HR-MS data, etc.).
Results and Discussion: could be combined in one section or separated in two sections depending on authors wish. The authors are asked to present the results (figures, schemes, and tables) and the interpretation of their work in a clear, concise, and precise manner. The authors must discuss and interpret their results and compare them with the previous reports. Please avoid (i) the repetitions of the data in figures and tables, and (ii) the extensive discussion and citations of the previous literature. Figures, tables, schemes, and references, should be referred to in the manuscript at the place where they have been first mentioned.
Conclusions: A concise paragraph that summarizes and highlights the important outcomes of the presented research, which could be given at the end of results and discussion part or in a separate section.
Acknowledgements: At the end of the article before the references, in a separate section, collate acknowledgements for any individual/institution/organization/company who financially supported, granting, or intellectually has participated in the submitted article.

Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list, they should follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication'. Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication.
Reference management software This journal has standard templates available as EndNote style as Endote Library Using plug-ins to wordprocessing packages, authors only need to select the appropriate journal template when preparing their article and the list of references and citations to these will be formatted according to the journal style which is described below.
Reference formatting There are no strict requirements on reference formatting at submission. References can be in any style or format as long as the style is consistent. Where applicable, author(s) name(s), journal title/book title, chapter title/article title, year of publication, volume number/book chapter and the article number or pagination must be present. Use of DOI is highly encouraged. The reference style used by the journal will be applied to the accepted article by Elsevier at the proof stage. Note that missing data will be highlighted at proof stage for the author to correct. If you do wish to format the references yourself they should be arranged according to the following examples:
Reference style Text: All citations in the text should refer to: 1. Single author: the author's name (without initials, unless there is ambiguity) and the year of publication; 2. Two authors: both authors' names and the year of publication; 3. Three or more authors: first author's name followed by 'et al.' and the year of publication. Citations may be made directly (or parenthetically). Groups of references should be listed first alphabetically, then chronologically. Examples: 'as demonstrated (Allan, 2000a, 2000b, 1999; Allan and Jones, 1999). Kramer et al. (2010) have recently shown ....' List: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication. Examples: Reference to a journal publication: Van der Geer, J., Hanraads, J.A.J., Lupton, R.A., 2010. The art of writing a scientific article. J. Sci. Commun. 163, 51–59.

The units of the parameters/items at the top of each column should be mentioned. Avoid using shading and/or vertical rules in table cells. Previously published values/data/materials should be identified by mentioning the relevant original source reference at the end of table. Please indicate the tables’ footnotes, if necessary, by superscript lower-case letters.
Figures/illustrations/schemes
The electronic artwork (figures/illustrations/schemes) should be embedded in the manuscript file (MS Word DOC format) and not as separate files. Each item should be given a descriptive caption and consecutively cited in the manuscript. The authors are asked to submit a high-quality figures/illustrations/schemes in MS Word, PDF, TIFF, PPT or JPEG formats. It the electronic artwork is given in several parts; these parts must be merged in a single image.
